What is Mission Africa?

Mission Africa is a faith based non-profit organization called to shine a light of hope in Africa Communities Riddled with Poverty and Despair through Educational Projects, Spiritual Support and HealthCare.

How was Mission Africa started?

Victor Jakpor, a member of Mountain View Lutheran Church in Phoenix, Arizona, is originally from Sapele, Nigeria. Victor came to the United States to attend college, and twenty years later, he heard the call to visit his homeland and make a difference.

Fellow members of Mountain View, and other area churches, joined together to support the mission. 

What has been done so far?

What was the first Mission Africa project?

The first project was to provide water to the elementary school in Sapele. Now, the 1,000 children who attend the school have access to water and restroom facilities.

What are the current Mission Africa projects and goals?

Is there an opportunity for volunteers to travel to Nigeria?

Yes, Mission Africa is planning a 2010 mission trip to Nigeria to install water purifications systems in the villages of Amukpe. The mission team will attend a Living Waters for the World training session October 4-9, 2009 in California.
